Advent Devotional-December 18

December 18                                Friday                                       Salvation

The theological study of salvation is called soteriology. It covers the means by which salvation is achieved and its results. Most major, world religions offer a way to salvation with the Eastern religions stressing the individual’s inner strength and discipline. Christian religions look to Jesus but even among Christians, salvation concepts are varied and complicated. So during advent while we are waiting and anticipating let’s think about it…

God is good, perfect, just and wants to be in a relationship with us. AMAZING! Because our record is often the very opposite of what we would want it to be, our bad actions separate us or keep us out of a close relationship. We need help! The help comes in the form of grace. We must be truly sorry for our mistakes and follow God’s commandments by our choices, actions and what’s more – the right attitude. Then by the grace of God, we can be in a relationship and create a better world in partnership with God. Let there be peace on earth.
