Who is this Son that has called us to walk with him as brothers and sisters? In the passage from Hebrews, the writer reminds us that God has chosen to speak to us through the Son. The writer wants us to have a clear understanding of who this person truly is.
Perhaps the intended reader has forgotten, as we often do. We’re told that this Son is the exact imprint of God’s very being. We are also told that the Son is superior to the angels. Even the angels are called to worship the Son.
We can take comfort in knowing that although the earth and the heavens will wear out like clothing, the Son remains the same, and his years will never end. Be still for just a moment, and ponder the reality of this. You and I have been called into a deep and abiding relationship with the everlasting God.
