Was the pie contest rigged? This is the burning question on everyone’s mind after our second annual stewardship pie contest, held after worship October 19th. Last year the blue ribbon winner was Sallie Tupitza. This year the blue ribbon winner was . . . you guessed it . . . Sallie Tupitza!
Sallie claims she’s not a good cook, so either she’s lying or it’s really Victor whipping up the chocolate pecan pies at their house. Either way, nobody got enough of the award winning pie on Sunday. So here’s the recipe to try it at home.

Chocolate Pecan Pie
1 Cup Karo Syrup
4 lg. eggs
1 Cup sugar
3 1/2 T butter
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 Cups pecans
1 tsp. Vanilla
Stir first 3 ingredients well, melt butter and chocolate.. ….mix all this together with the pecans and pour into unbaked pie shell
55 minutes at 350 degrees . . . then pray that all goes well….especially if you’re taking it somewhere, like a pie contest.
