Ashley Newman was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina, the land of smiling faces and beautiful places.  She currently attends Howard University in Washington, DC where she will be a junior for the upcoming school year. At Howard she is pursuing a degree in English.  Upon graduating college, she plans on attending seminary to receive a Masters of Divinity and become a youth minister. This past summer, Ashley had the pleasure of being in New Orleans and Boston, working for Passport Camps as a Bible Study leader. Ashley loves the DC area and the many new and exciting things that it has to offer.  She is excited about working with Calvary Baptist Church and getting to know each and everyone of its members!

Jade attended Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey and graduated in 2006. Jade currently works and lives in Gallery Place/Chinatown. She wants to give back to the community and is looking forward to working with the Horizons Youth!
